Top Performing Schools in PRC Board Exams 2025 Philippines

After every PRC board exam cycle, the PRC publishes a list of top performing schools. These are the institutions whose graduates consistently achieve the highest passing rates. For students choosing where to study or graduates trying to understand the competitive landscape of their profession, this data is genuinely useful.
How PRC Determines Top Performing Schools
PRC recognizes schools that meet two criteria: a minimum number of examinees (to ensure statistical significance) and a passing rate significantly above the national average.
The exact thresholds vary by profession and by exam cycle. Generally a school needs at least 10 first-time takers to be eligible for the top performing school recognition.
Where to find official data: After every exam cycle, PRC publishes the top performing schools list alongside the passers list at prc.gov.ph. This is the only authoritative source.
What Top School Rankings Actually Mean
A school appearing on the top performing schools list means its graduates performed well in that specific exam cycle. It does not mean:
Every graduate from that school will pass. Individual performance varies enormously within the same school.
Other schools produce inferior graduates. Many excellent professionals come from schools that do not regularly appear on top performing lists, particularly regional schools with smaller examinee pools.
You should transfer schools. If you are already enrolled, your energy is better spent on disciplined review than on school selection.
Consistently Strong Schools by Profession
Rather than listing specific exam-cycle rankings which change each cycle, here are the types of institutions that consistently appear in top performing lists across multiple professions.
Nursing: University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University Medical Center College of Medicine, Cebu Doctors' University, and several Visayas-based nursing schools have strong track records.
Criminology: University of Mindanao, Davao del Norte State College, and several SUCs in Mindanao and Visayas appear regularly in CLE top lists.
Education (LET): Philippine Normal University (the national center for teacher education), several state universities in the regions, and CHED-recognized colleges of education perform consistently.
Medical Technology: University of Santo Tomas, Cebu Doctors' University, and several medical universities with strong allied health programs.
Agriculture: University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), and Visayas State University appear regularly in ALE results.
The More Important Question
Rather than asking which school tops the rankings, the more useful question is: how well am I prepared compared to the national examinee pool?
A graduate of a top performing school who does minimal review will still fail. A graduate of a less recognized school who reviews seriously and practices consistently has every chance of passing.
The board exam is an individual assessment. Your school's ranking tells you about historical cohort performance. Your individual result depends entirely on your own preparation.
